Research group on bacterial resistance and biotechnological application of microorganisms

Organization profile

Organization profile

We research the resistance of microorganisms to antibacterials as a result of the excessive and uncontrolled use of antibiotics, as well as their impact when they contaminate the environment (surface waters, cultivated soils, etc.) and food, which can eventually lead to bacterial infections that are difficult to treat.

UN Sustainable Development Goals

In 2015, UN member states agreed to 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. Our work contributes towards the following SDG(s):

  • SDG 7 - Affordable and Clean Energy
  • SDG 13 - Climate Action
