Organization profile

Metabolic Syndrome (MS) is a condition that encompasses several health problems: obesity, insulin resistance, high blood pressure and dyslipidemias. these problems increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases and have become more frequent in the population. Our group is dedicated to investigating the prevalence of non-communicable diseases related to MS, such as obesity, dyslipidemias and diabetes, in children, adolescents and adults. we also study the factors associated with MS and develop criteria for its diagnosis, through field research. Our studies range from the molecular level, using predictors for MS, to the educational level, preventing and improving the health of patients with MS.
