he HERA Research Group – Piura promotes the independence of women who have been victims of domestic and sexual violence. During 2024, 12,000 cases of violence against women were reported in Piura, with 48.6% linked to some form of intimate partner violence, according to ENDES by INEI. Economic violence is evident, as many women in this situation lack financial independence.
This initiative responds to the need to strengthen opportunities for women who are victims of domestic violence to access employment and economic entrepreneurship that supports their financial independence in the District of Piura (2024–2025).
In alignment with the objectives of Public and Private Law, its studies focus on legal analysis from the perspective of Fundamental Rights and conflict resolution, access to justice, removal of barriers, and, above all, the protection of victims' rights.
Regarding the Sustainable Development Goals, entrepreneurship, and social responsibility, the study is focused on ending poverty (SDG 4), ensuring quality education, promoting SDG 16 (peace, justice, and strong institutions), and strengthening economic development opportunities by promoting employability for women who are victims of domestic violence.
