Justification: Neurological disorders such as epilepsy, cerebrovascular disease, and dementia represent a significant burden in Peru. Research is urgently needed to improve diagnosis, treatment, and quality of life, as well as to inform public health policies. Objectives: To generate knowledge on the epidemiology and risk factors of epilepsy and other common neuropathologies; to assess access to healthcare services and psychosocial impact; to propose evidence-based solutions; and to train new researchers. Research Lines: Our focus areas include the epidemiology and burden of epilepsy and prevalent neurological diseases (including neurocysticercosis), barriers to diagnosis and treatment, psychosocial comorbidities, and innovation in technologies and training. University Social Responsibility (USR): Our USR actions include community education on epilepsy, training of local healthcare professionals, advocacy for public policy improvement, and support for patients and their families.
