Abstract
Resumen- Soil contamination by hydrocarbons generates serious impacts on the fertility, properties and use of the soil; it can also affect human health, flora and fauna. The main objective of this research was to evaluate the degradation of total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) in a soil modified with manure from Cavia porcellus and Helianthus annuus. For this, 4 treatments were carried out with 3 repetitions in each one consisting of 1.6 kg soil + 0.8 kg sand + 20, 000 ppm B5 S-50 diesel and a sunflower specimen, treatments 2, 3 and 4 added 100, 200 and 300 g of guinea pig manure respectively. Physical-chemical analyzes of the soil and manure were carried out, the HTP concentrations were measured in a gas chromatograph. The results of the treatments showed high percentages of HTP remediation with 75.47%, 99.76%, 99.43% and 99.39% in treatment 1; 2; 3 and 4 respectively. Finally, it was concluded that the incorporation of guinea pig manure and sunflower plantation in a soil contaminated by B5 S-50 diesel turned out to be an effective method in the degradation of HTP, considering that these variables had positive results after obtaining percentages absorption greater than 99%.
