    Abstract

The purpose of this research was to analyze the characteristics associated with COVID-19 vaccine acceptance among parents of children under 18 years old in Peru. The study population consisted of all parents of children under 18 years old residing in Peru. A sample of 233 parents from across the country was obtained. The survey technique was used, and the instrument was a questionnaire. The results indicate that 81.5% of parents have doubts about vaccinating their children, despite 94.7% acknowledging the necessity of the vaccine. Additionally, 23.3% disagree that the time during which the vaccines have been tested is sufficient, 7.9% of parents believe the vaccine can cause thrombosis, 4.2% agree with the belief that a chip can be implanted when vaccinated, and 4.7% believe their DNA can be altered. In conclusion, among the factors analyzed, age, the number of children, and the level of education are associated with parents' acceptance of COVID-19 vaccines for children under 18 years old.
