Abstract

The purpose of this research work was to evaluate the technique of revegetation with Rye Grass for the control of water erosion of slopes in a surface mine located in Cajamarca. In the mining company there are constant problems due to landslides along with erosion on the slopes, which suffer from morphological changes of the soil continuously. Static stability conditions were determined in the rainy season with the application of the technique with Grass increases by 0.13 (11%), and in the dry season by 0.22 (19.5%), significantly improving stability. Similarly, the pseudostatic stability conditions in the rainy season with the application of the technique with Grass increase by 0.208 (20.6%), and in the dry season by 0.139 (13.4%), significantly improving stability. The results obtained also indicate that with the application of Grass as a bioengineering technique, erosion in the rainy season decreases by 3.9 mm (3.8% humidity) and in the dry season by 2.3 mm (0.9% humidity).
