Abstract

the purpose of the article is to demonstrate the current situation of intercultural teacher training with a causal relationship of the didactic strategies used by teacher trainers in a higher pedagogical school. It is the product of research carried out considering the positivist paradigm, quantitative approach, basic type, descriptive level, and causal correlational design. The sample represented by 70 students from the last semesters answered two validated and reliable questionnaires through the survey technique. According to the results, students who are trained as intercultural teachers are not acquiring solid pedagogical skills to, in turn, train students with and for interculturality. Future teachers evaluate the didactics of their teacher trainers and place them at deficient and regular levels, in most cases. The didactic strategies that they use: communicational, informational, and cognitive, even though they constitute current dimensions of pedagogy, however, are applied mostly in deficient and regular ways. In conclusion, the influence of the didactic strategies used by teacher trainers in teacher training in the higher pedagogical institute is explained in 62.8% in the statistical analysis of linear regression.
