Abstract
The switch from the traditional grid to the smart grid is happening quickly around the world. A smart grid has some drawbacks, as is true of many innovations. The main problem is the protection of the smart grid from harmful cyber-attacks. The major problem is maintaining large networks since millions of sensors are constantly present for receiving and transmitting data packets over the network. The smart grid's crucial components include availability integrity confidentiality and crucial components that are harmfully attacked by cyber threats. 3 levels present in the smart grid are sensor communication smart devices; the next level is access to the network by the customers. The next level is the decision-making level which is overseen in the network and these levels are susceptible to cyber-attacks. The indispensable components of cybersecurity in the smart grid network are examined in detail in this survey, along with several threats and vulnerabilities that may harm them, and three degrees of security procedures are then presented to address these issues. Additionally, we offer strategies to reduce the likelihood of a cyberattack on all three levels.
