Abstract
Entrepreneurship and business creation generate jobs, competitiveness and drive economic growth, making it important to translate business ideas into companies. The objective of the study was to determine the factors that influence entrepreneurial intention in university students at a public university in Lima-Peru. The variables are based on the theory of planned behavior (Ajzen, 1991) and the theory of values (Schwartz, 2006). The research was of a non-experimental, explanatory cross-sectional design, with a convenience sample of 248 participants, to whom a questionnaire on business values and intentions was applied. The results were obtained that the factors, attitude towards entrepreneurial behavior, subjective norm, perceived control of behavior and values influence the entrepreneurial intention of university students. Likewise, through the pseudo R square test, which showed the Nagelkerke value, it is established that the variability of entrepreneurial intention is explained in 20.4% by the entrepreneurial attitude; 20.2% for perceived control of behavior, 15.8% for values and 8% for the subjective norm. It is concluded that there is a need to promote entrepreneurial education in universities focused mainly on the attitudes of young people towards entrepreneurship.
