Abstract
This research with a quantitative, transversal approach aimed to measure the relationship between evaluations and the levels of employee’s performance who are periodically evaluated. We worked with ten companies that make up a business group in Ecuador within the pharmaceutical industry. Information was collected in two ways: to measure the relationship between the variables, reports provided by the companies corresponding to their performance evaluations in the years 2022 and 2023 were used, as well as the productivity information of the workers in the same years. Finally, a questionnaire was used to measure the workers’ perception of the performance evaluation process present in the group. We worked with a non-probabilistic sample composed of 300 employees from the different areas of the ten companies that make up the group, in which Results: a low correlation was found between the variables in the same year, while it was shown that the performance evaluation has a positive influence on the productivity of employees the following year after being evaluated. This work supports previous studies that highlight the relevance of communication and transparency in evaluations to maintain employee motivation and commitment.
