Abstract

This paper, developed under the documentary approach, aims to specify the epistemological and pedagogical challenges posed by educating the generation of digital natives or centennials. To achieve this end, the article is structured as follows: 1. It presents the most relevant characteristics that define the Centennial Generation, among which its birth in the midst of the exponential rise of the internet, the advancement of social networks and the questioning the traditional vision of education, being a generation that demands immediate answers in the midst of a globalized context. 2. It presents the model of a good university teacher, which leads to the reengineering of educational processes and the orientation of students to integral development. 3. Points out the current limitations of education and the need to innovate in educational and technological matters to meet the demands of the centennial generation. It concludes on the need for debate on these complex issues, promoting research proposals, as well as the advancement of new epistemological approaches that lead to more humane and humanizing educational practices.
