Abstract

Micro and Small Enterprises (MSE's) are the entrepreneurial force that sustain the economic growth of developing countries; managing them is the challenge for owners and professionals. The main objective of this research is to determine the influence of business management on the development of MSEs in mining areas in southern Peru. The approach is quantitative, with explanatory scope, non-experimental design, the data were collected at a single time, the sample included 243 companies to whom a questionnaire was applied through the survey; the results were analyzed with the ordinal regression model to test the hypotheses raised. In the descriptive results, 63.8% consider that business management is excellent, while 76.5% rate the development of MSEs as excellent; at the inferential level, it was found that business management explains 83.9% of the development of micro and small enterprises. The research concludes that business management has a high influence on the development of this type of enterprise in a developing country context, specifically in mining areas.
