Abstract
In recent years, the trend of applying academic analytics and data mining in the field of education has increased, addressing different issues such as dropout, student academic performance, teacher performance, among others. The objective of this article was to investigate, through a systematic review, the various forms of application of academic analytics and educational data mining in universities. For this, searches for articles in scientific journals were carried out in the most recognized virtual databases, through the prisma statement it was systematized, obtaining 22 articles that met the established inclusion and exclusion criteria. As a result, it was possible to identify which topics of the teaching-learning process are focused on, the methodologies applied in the projects of academic analytics and educational data mining, the application programs and the programming languages used most frequently, as well as the techniques used. for the implementation of the models.
