Abstract

This study examines the relationship between achievement motivation and entrepreneurial intention, focusing on the moderating role of gender in the Peruvian context. Using stratified sampling, data were collected from 286 individuals from the Lambayeque population, employing a Likert scale to measure variables such as business intention and achievement motivation. Hayes' PROCESS macro (version 2.6) was applied to examine moderation and mediation relationships. The results reveal that achievement motivation accounts for 18.05% of the variability in entrepreneurship and has a significant direct effect on entrepreneurial intention, with this effect being more pronounced in women than in men. These findings suggest the need for differentiated approaches to fostering entrepreneurial intention by gender, highlighting the importance of business interventions that consider these differences. The implementation of inclusive policies and specific support programs is recommended, as well as the adaptation of business training to address the different needs and challenges faced by entrepreneurs of different genders.
