The Smartphone in the learning and teaching processes

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contributionpeer-review

Abstract

This cross-sectional descriptive quantitative study examines the influence of the smartphone on learning pedagogical strategies. Implementing a non-experimental methodological structure, variations, and convergences in the use of mobile applications among teachers and students are identified. Although the results indicate a trend towards distinctive uses based on roles and responsibilities, the analysis of the average ranges reveals that the differences are not statistically significant, suggesting a convergence in the adoption of mobile technologies in the educational environment. Consequently, strategic recommendations are proposed such as the development of a pedagogical framework, teacher training, adaptive and evaluative pedagogy, as well as cybersecurity measures and evaluation to enhance the effectiveness of smartphone integration in teaching.
