Resumen
Entrepreneurial self-efficacy has gained importance in recent years in the field of entrepreneurship. Based on this, the objective of the present study was to determine the effect of entrepreneurial self-efficacy on the business performance of micro and small enterprises in four Peruvian provinces. 382 entrepreneurs from different institutions were evaluated through a survey with adequate psychometric properties. Among the main results, significant values were determined at a confidence level of 95% (p=0.00; p<0. 01) in the relationship between the dimensions of entrepreneurial self-efficacy and business performance, where it stands out that the dimension of fostering relationships with investors contributes greatly to the increase in business results, while the dimension of fostering an innovative environment contributes less; in conclusion, it is evident that entrepreneurial self-efficacy has a positive effect on business performance, indicating that as long as a subject has better skills to design new products, improvements will be obtained in the performance of Peruvian micro and small enterprises.
