Resumen
The aim of this study was to evaluate the benefits of a meditation program on anxiety and depression in university stu-dents. A quasi-experimental study was carried out on a sample of 78 participants, divided into an experimental group and a control group. The State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) was used to assess anxiety, and the Zung Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS) was used to assess depression. The results indicated that the meditation program had a larger effect size on state anxiety (d=1.16) and a moderate effect size on trait anxiety (d=0.59) and depression (d=0.72), resulting in benefits for anxiety and depression levels in university students.
