Resumen

This study focused on analyzing the adoption of electronic wallets in Peru. Its primary objective was to identify the key factors influencing this adoption, with particular attention to perceived trust, convenience, and promotion, and how these elements integrate into the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). A quantitative correlational approach was adopted, using a non- experimental cross-sectional design with a structured questionnaire based on validated scales. Data collection was conducted through an online survey, obtaining 250 valid responses. Data analyses, performed using SPSS and SmartPLS, revealed that the majority of users are young men with higher education and low income, who occasionally use electronic wallets. The results confirmed the validity and reliability of the constructs in the measurement model, showing a significant influence of perceived trust, convenience, and promotion on the adoption of these technologies. In terms of conclusions, the study highlights the importance of these factors in users' decision to adopt electronic wallets, particularly in an emerging economy context like Peru. Strategic recommendations include focusing on strengthening user trust, enhancing convenience and ease of use, implementing effective promotional campaigns, targeting key demographics, promoting education and awareness about the benefits and functionality of electronic wallets, and maintaining continuous monitoring for product improvement. These strategies are crucial to boost the adoption and efficient use of electronic wallets in Peru.
