N2 - The objective of this research work is to analyze and design the structure of the recreational and pedagogical area for an educational institution in Peru. For this research, the expansion of an educational institution located in Trujillo - Peru (Pacific Ring of Fire) with seismic risk has been proposed. The environments are designed with the technical criteria for the design of educational premises established by MINEDU and the national building regulations. As for the structural aspect of the pedagogical environments, the requirements of the E.030 Seismic Resistant Design Standard were met, supported by the use of the Etabs software. In the seismic analysis, drifts of less than 0.007 were obtained, with a maximum drift of 0.001434 in the X-axis and 0.004591 in the Y-axis. For the steel design, all load combinations established in the E060 standard were taken into account. In terms of recreational areas, a semi-Olympic pool with a length of 25m and a width of 12.5m, with a depth of 1.80m, was considered, thus complying with the minimum parameters established in the technical standard. As we return to in-person activities after the challenges of the pandemic, it is necessary for all private and public educational institutions to be structurally evaluated to verify compliance with functionality and safety parameters, and establish the necessary repairs or reinforcements with the sole objective of safeguarding the lives of children and young people.
