Resumen
Objective: To determine the bactericidal effect of copper surfaces on Betalactamase Escherichia coli of extended spectrum, resistant Staphylococcus aureus methicillin and Pseudomonas aeruginosa multidrogoresistente isolated from infectious processes. Method: Experimental research, three strains were used for each bacterial species isolated from hospital infections, with a time exposure (1, 5, 10, 20, 30 and 40 min) considering 3 replicates for each strain 324 experimental units were totaled. Results: The colony count after 10 minutes of exposure to copper surfaces was zero in the three strains of Escherichia coli producing betalactamase of extended spectrum. With multidrug-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa, a similar elimination of initial 2-3x108 CFU bacteria was observed, in a time of approximately 10 minutes, on the other hand, the elimination of the Methicillin heavy duty Staphylococcus aureus after 20 minutes of Exhibition. Conclusions: Copper surfaces have bactericidal effect on Escherichia coli producing betalactamase of extended spectrum, Staphylococcus aureus resistant methicillin and multidrug Pseudomonas aeruginosa, reducing the CFU/mL to 10, 15 and 20 minutes.
