N2 - Small and medium-sized industrial companies in the city of Cuenca, Ecuador, face situations of financial risk, by failing to meet the requirements for granting credits. The objective of the study is to develop the 5C technique: Character, Capital, Capacity, Collateral Guarantees, Economic Conditions, with the support of fuzzy logic and the tool of expertise, to determine if these companies are in a position to receive financial support through credits from Ecuadorian financial institutions. Methodologically, the research is explanatory, with a quantitative approach, its purpose is to explain the 5C technique under uncertainty, allowing organizations to know the correct path according to their category, to see if they are suitable to obtain financial credits. According to the results obtained, it is observed that these companies are in category 4, subcategory 4.2, according to the classification of the developed technique and credit policies of the financial institution. By obtaining two strong variables and three weak ones, the situation would be almost unfavorable for credit approval. These techniques allow managers to make sound decisions to reduce financial risk and meet the requirements demanded by financial institutions.
