Resumen
Education has undergone significant changes thanks to the emergence of new technologies. These have become useful tools for learning and research. The objective was to determine the level of correspondence between the use of technological tools and the level of research competencies in undergraduate university students. It was a basic research, correlational, quantitative approach, and non-experimental-transversal design. The study population consisted of 720 students of a private Peruvian university who are in the fifth cycle of the curricular experience of scientific research methodology and the sample consisted of 251 of them, which was obtained by means of a probabilistic sampling. As instruments for data collection, two questionnaires with Likert-type scaling were considered, which measured the variables under study, obtaining a reliability of 0.97 and 0.99 respectively, and a validation by expert judgment of 94% acceptability. As the main finding, it was found that there is a direct, low and non-significant correspondence between the variables under study. It was possible to conclude that the technological tools studied, although they are tools that can be used in the study, have a direct, low and non-significant correspondence between the variables studied.
