N2 - In the process of basic education, life skills are developed and strengthened. Therefore, it is necessary to apply innovative tools and strategies to strengthen the student's mathematical learning. Objective: To identify the strategies used in the mathematics course, which are expository, teamwork, action, symposium, use of mental maps, comparative charts, and the use of technology in an alternative basic education institution in Callao. The methodology was quantitative, cross-sectional, non-experimental. The study consisted of 60 students who were applied the instrument of learning strategies in mathematics, which consisted of 35 items. Each dimension consisted of 5 questions, measured through a Likert scale. The test was submitted to expert evaluation for validity and reliability tests respecting the corresponding ethical aspects. Among the results found, there is evidence that 24% expositive strategies are developed and 5% strategies using technology. It is concluded that it is necessary to rethink strategies in practice during the learning process to ensure that the competencies of the participant are strengthened in the dimension of statistics and probability, developing learning strategies using technology to enhance the learning of mathematics in alternative basic education.
