N2 - The main objective of this study is to investigate the influence of the molar ratio of methanol and oil, as well as the percentage of sodium hydroxide, on the calorific value during the production of biodiesel from used oils obtained from restaurants in Cajamarca. To do this, the transesterification process, which was patented by a company in 1950 in the United States, will be used. The process will begin with a survey applied to each of the restaurants to determine the amount of used oil and establish a collection system. Then, transesterification will be carried out in a laboratory and the calorific value of the biodiesel will be evaluated using the Anderson Darling probability method. Finally, two independent categorical groups will be analyzed with the Kruskal-Wallis Test to determine any possible differences in calorific value between them. In general, this study is crucial to improve biodiesel production from used oils, reducing dependence on fossil fuels and contributing to a more sustainable future.
