Resumen

In Peru, health represents one of the main problems for the population, where almost 20% of it is excluded from basic care services. The objective of this work is to analyze public policies in the national health system of Peru. The present investigation is framed within the qualitative-interpretative approach with phenomenological design, the semistructured interview was used as an instrument for collecting information. Among the findings of the work, we highlight that citizens do not have access to a quality health service, hospital centers do not have adequate infrastructure to meet population demand, there are deficiencies in terms of the skills of health personnel, Peruvians they continue to rely primarily on the private sector for their health needs. It is concluded that public health policies must be approached in a comprehensive manner, considering geographical, demographic, citizen training, cultural and economic elements.
