Resumen
Educational video games contribute significantly to the growth of people’s cognitive abilities. Three research questions were formulated, and through the use of the PRISMA methodology, 30 investigations were chosen. The purpose is to demonstrate that the use of videogames can enhance an individual’s cognitive thinking. The results revealed that video games have the ability to simulate educational environments, which favors the development of communication skills, social interaction, problem solving, and reflective analysis. In conclusion, it was evidenced that 54.44% of educational video games are innovative, and an average of 2.89 of them provide new knowledge.
